  4. At all times to conduct my business in free and fair competition, and refrain from making any misleading or untrue statements about other HIA members, and
  5. To avoid any action which might bring HIA and its members into disrepute.

Unregistered Builders

Is your builder a "Registered Builder"?

If you are entering into a contract for building work valued over $20,000, the builder is required by law to be a registered builder.

Did you know an unregistered builder is not insured to build any project over $20,000. Unregistered builders seek owners to sign "owner builder licences" to get building approvals through council, which gives them no liability and places all liability back on the owner.

Simply click on the link below and follow the prompts to see if a builder is registered.

European House Borer

Western Australia is currently experiencing small outbreaks of the European House Borer. The building advice from the Department of Housing and Works is not to use untreated pine for structural purposes in affected areas.
